Expecting a baby? New baby just arrived? As a momma to a toddler and an infant, there are a few things I’ve learned. Including what is truly a must have when anticipating the arrival of a little one.
DockATot: Baby needs a safe place to sleep and this is the gold star sleeper. My Dock-A-Tot was delivered to my doorstep just 2 days after my little girl arrived home. I laid her down to sleep in it that very night and guess what? She slept until 7am!! I woke up to my husband and toddler standing over our infant checking to make sure she was still breathing. The Dock-A-Tot was designed to make your baby feel like they are still in the womb by keeping them in a snug place. Let me tell you it worked. If that’s not awesome enough, because it is so light you can easily move it around the house, it has washable and interchangeable covers, and it can be used for tummy time. Yes!

Summer Infant SwaddleMe swaddles: Hands down the best swaddle for keeping a baby comfy and warm at night. They are super easy to put on and secured with velcro so your little one can’t wiggle out while sleeping. I’ve put both my babies in these since they were born and both started sleeping though the night almost right away.
Nipple Shield: I swear by this. For me, breast feeding was not something that came easily. My daughter struggled to latch ‘properly’ which in turn led to dry, cracked, bleeding nipples and my infant screaming because she was starving, and then of course I cried because I felt inadequate. The moment I got the shield, things changed. We were both so much happier. She fed easily, my boobs were saved, and everyone was happy.
Diapers: Ok this is an obvious one. However, as simple as it may sound, there can be more to it than just a diaper. If your lucky, your baby will be able to wear any diaper you put them in with no problems. That didn’t happen for us. My baby kept getting diaper rash and we couldn’t figure out why. At a pediatrician visit we brought it up and it was suggested to us that our daughter may have whats known as ‘baby eczema’ which isn’t a big deal (it is common and many infants outgrow it), except she has super sensitive skin. It was important to put her in diapers that didn’t contain any extra chemicals or scents. Enter Honest Diapers. Not only are they cute, but we no longer had to battle rashes.
FridaBaby Nose Frida: The Nose Frida is the must have snot sucker. I have to admit, my first thought was “Gross. You do what!?” But it didn’t end up being gross at all. Thanks to the filter you don’t have to worry about sucking any of that snot into your mouth and it leaves your baby free and clear of snot and boogers. When baby can breathe, so can mama.
4Moms MamaRoo: This should be in every moms living room. I have put both my girls in the mamaroo from day 1 and it is a life saver. It keeps baby happy and relaxed, so I can put her down and take a shower.
4Moms Tub: The cadillac of baby bath tubs. I can set this in the tub or the sink and give my little one a bath and with a built in thermometer I know if the water is too hot or too cold for my babe.
